Workplace Charging Challenge Webinar

The U.S. Department of Energy aims to achieve a tenfold increase in the number of U.S. employers offering workplace charging for plug-in electric vehicles (PEV) by 2018. Many PEV drivers do their charging primarily at home, but access to charging at the workplace can help to double their vehicles’ all-electric commuting range, increasing the affordability and convenience of driving an electric vehicle. The Challenge is open to U.S. employers of all sizes whose charging stations are, or will be, primarily for employee use. The Challenge offers benefits to employers who are considering installing charging stations as well as to employers who have already launched a charging program. This webinar will provide an overview of the Challenge and the benefits of workplace charging. To join the event, click here.

Northeast States’ Hydrogen Economy Webinar

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Northeast States’ Hydrogen Economy” on Tuesday, December 1, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). The webinar will focus on state efforts to support the regional development of hydrogen infrastructure for the deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) in the Northeast United States. The presentation will identify strategies, methods, and policies being employed in the Northeast states, from Maine to Maryland, to coordinate stakeholders, manage information, reduce potential barriers, and create new market opportunities for logical deployment of high efficiency FCEVs. The webinar will also focus on private efforts currently underway, the role states may have in fostering private investment, and how incentive structures may help facilitate development of a system of hydrogen fueling stations. The presentation may serve as a model for other jurisdictions/states to follow with proposed solutions to facilitate deployment of FCEVs for increased transportation efficiency, decreased consumption of petroleum, improved environmental performance, increased economic development, and the creation of new jobs.

Taking Charge of Your Transportation: Electric Car and E-Bike Fair

This event is hosted by Brattleboro Climate Protection, VBike, Brattleboro Energy Committee and the Marlboro College Graduate School

We hope you can come out for the Taking Charge of Your Transportation EV Fair at the Marlboro Grad School in Brattleboro on Saturday, Oct 3rd from 1 pm to 4 pm . Last year we attracted some 200 folks and it was incredibly fun.
This year we will be featuring the exciting VBike fleet for all to see and try out! It’s the first demonstration fleet of its kind in Vermont to showcase the great potential of e-assist technologies and the new cargo bike designs. Also, Becky Jones will have her freshly purchased Yuba Spicy Curry (gotta love that name), a state-of-the-art mid-drive e-cargo bike. And Brattleboro’s bike shops should be on hand to show off their latest lines of e-bikes and e-assist conversion kits. Oh yeah, there will also be a number of electric cars, too.
Anyone out there with an e-bike is warmly invited to bring it and do a little show & tell. Let’s show folks just how many there is of us in town and around Vermont. If you are comfortable allowing participants to take a test ride on your bike, that’s fine with us. There’s lots of room.
This event is free.
